It was not our job t

It was not our job to find WMD’s!

With all the criticism of us not finding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq (not true), I’m sick and tired of this discussion being framed by anti-war, anti-Bush Liberals! Let me say this once more as loudly as I can; It was and is not now our job to find Iraq’s WMD’s! It was Iraq’s obligation, in accordance with the cease-fire agreement to which THEY were a co-signature, to produce its well known, well documented, and oft used, WMD’s! The notion that it proves Saddam did not have WMD’s because we haven’t found them (particularly in light of the fact that he definitely has used them in the past, and that he agreed to destroy them) is as ridiculous as saying that because we can find no slaves today in the U.S. proves that slavery never existed here! Also, how does one agree to destroy that which he does not have? Even with these facts in mind, his refusal to adhere to the agreement alone was justification enough for the current war, particularly in light of the events of 9/11!

The problem is, we have let the Liberals frame the argument, slanted with their anti-Bush rhetoric, and then got on the defensive by being off point in the first place! It’s time we argue the points as they really were framed by history, and not under the colored lenses of Liberal revisionism! Their positions basically come in three categories: a) Give peace a chance, b) War only as a last resort, and c) Avoid war at all costs!

Let’s eliminate the last group (c), because they seldom deal with reality.

As far as the ‘war only as a last resort’ crowd, my answer to them is, that usually means some harm or catastrophe has already befallen us, and that we had no choice but to respond with hostility! We need to understand that our Federal Government’s number one responsibility is the defense of this country and its citizens! It seems to me to be an abdication of that responsibility to not act in the face of credible impending harm to this country, or to wait until that harm is made manifest rather than to act preemptively in order to prevent such harm!

To answer the ‘give peace a chance’ folk, I’ll respond with a few points worth considering:

Point 1) Did we give peaceful negotiations a chance to work?

This is the easiest of all to answer, and I’ll answer with a question; Do you think that the 10+ years from the end of the first Gulf war to the present resumption of hostilities, with all of the begging, pleading, negotiating, diplomacy, etc., was enough time to “give peace a chance”?

Point 2) Did we have a legal right to resume hostilities?

Saddam did not adhere to his agreement to produce and document the destruction of his known WMD’s to the satisfaction of the U.N. inspectors. Remember the hide and seek, peek-a-boo, and kick ‘em out and let ‘em back in games he played with the inspectors for years? If the losing party in a negotiated peace settlement does not adhere strictly to the agreement, the prevailing party has the absolute right to resume hostilities! Also, there were numerous incidents of Iraqi aggression in firing upon our Airmen in their attempts to enforce the “No-fly zone”!

Point 3) Did we give Saddam fair warning and ample opportunity to comply with the cease-fire agreement?

You bet we did! In fact, I believe we gave the Iraqi’s more than enough time to comply; time enough to possibly (probably) secret WMD’s to the possession of willing accomplices, say for example Syria?!

Just because we have not found WMD’s in sufficient enough quantities to satisfy the Liberals (which I don’t think is possible any way; satisfying a Liberal that is) does not mean they never existed; ask the Kurds!

Point 4) Is the freedom of millions, the establishment of hope, and an example of self-government in the Middle East worth the effort?

As an American of African descent, I must answer with a resounding yes! Would that a super-power had intervened on our behalf to end the scourge of American slavery years before it actually was!

Point 5) Is helping to assure that WMD’s destined for use on us or our allies either by direct use by Saddam or distribution to elements hostile towards us, not be used for those purposes worth the sacrifice?

I say yes!

Point 5) Is the deposing of a dictator and a madman, responsible for the murder and torture of millions, and the religious persecution and repression of millions more worth the war?

As a freedom-loving Christian American of African descent, I say Hallelujah!

Quiet as it has been kept, we have been under attack by radical Muslims for over 30 years! There is evidence suggesting that the Oklahoma City bombing may have had its roots in that cause! There is evidence that the young man who recently blew himself up outside of the University of Oklahoma stadium during a game while the stadium was packed, had radical Muslim connections!

The attempt to hamstring the President by the political left for political purposes is criminal! For them to refer to the President as a liar is laughable! If they were truthful, they would tell you that their real motives lay less in oppostion to the war effort, and have more to do with them still fighting the 2000 election! If we were to leave the defense of our country to them, we probably will not suffer 30 more years of terrorist attacks! We won’t have thirty years left!

Hello there, I was recently doing a search through blogs for the keyphrase how to make money with google adsense. I happened to come across yours even though it wasn't particularly related to what I searched for. I figured I wouldn't mind contributing to your blog by commenting it. I've been quite busy to work on my blog lately but I am interested in topics being generally related to what I search for. I know you may not think this is an appropriate post to your blog, however I would just like to compliment you on your blog and I wish you well in future endeavors with it,

Sincerely,

Mark

p.s. I like to take a look at other blogs to get some ideas as to how I am going to form mine.

Hey, let's don't forget, they did find weapons of mass destruction, as quiet as the news media was, there was a discovery of 1800 pound of plutonium, which was shipped back to the u.s. under heavy guard. The cat and mouse game played by Saddam, even when Bill Clinton was in office, was well above the time limit for "give peace a chance. Would we have given Hitler.. a chance to develop the atomic bomb before we had defeated them? The sad fact is that "liberalism is a mental disorder", caused by the hedonistic self destructive attitudes of libral life style choices. Liberal ideas "feel" right, which you know as well as I do, what always "feels" right is not the right choice most of the time. Sad to say that most liberal ideology "feels right", but given enough facts, one finds their ideals do not support rational reasoning. I am sick and tire of hearing the liberals... talk about "war", Iraq, wmds, cia leaks, grand jury indictments, and in general critizing the president for all his faults. THe true conservatives have been critical of all these subjects, without the political agenda, which the liberal seek to "paint with a broad brush" all republicans or conservatives. I am sick and tired of hearing about "tax cuts" for the rich, nothing for the poor. I am sick of hearing the liberals talk about buget cuts... when in fact they are increases in spending. In fact, I AM SICK AND TIRED OF SEE THE SAME DRIED UP FACES OF ALL THE LIBERALS WHO HAVE BEEN IN OFFICE SINCE I FIRST CAME OF AGE TO VOTE IN MY FIRST PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. I WOULD LIKE TO SEND THEM ALL HOME, TO THEIR JUST REWARDS!!!!!!!!!!
